Commissions

Most portraits start with a days sitting here in my studio, at your house, or at any location of your choice. I will take a series of photographs at that sitting that I will then use to complete the portrait.

Sometimes, of course, a sitting may be impossible. Perhaps because you want the portrait as a surprise present, or simply you live too far away. In this case I can work from your photographs BUT they must be to a professional standard, well lit etc. I also like to have some background information on the subject.

You can of course come and stay with us - we have hosted bed and breakfast accomodation.

As you can see from the examples shown here I like to include something or somewhere that puts the person into context. This can be a hobby, career, life time achievement, passion - whatever you feel best sums up the subject or how they would like to be remembered.

I am also happy to paint family groups. These can include pets but not pets on their own - apart from Horses, tigers, or dolphins! (as you will see in the gallery).

Most paintings take up to six weeks to complete, particularly if you want me to arrange the framing. The cost will range from around $AS 1000 for a modest pastel up to $AS 10,000 for the largest acrylics on canvas.
